We start our Fairs this week and look forward to seeing all our customers over the next few weeks. It is our opportunity to see what you think to our new crackers that we have been creating for you over the last few months! Sue has, as always, been hard at work making lots of great new designs for you and your families to enjoy over Christmas.

Go Crackers say Happy New Year January 2011

A start of a new year and so new crackers too! We had a brilliant year last year despite the weather and the problems it caused for the postal services. Unfortunately some of our crackers did not arrive in time despite our attempts to try Special Delivery and our carrier for the last week. One of our orders took a month to arrive but our customer was a very understanding lady - thankfully. We have so many lovely customers who send us such super feedback about our crackers and the service we try to provide. Thanks to you all!

We made crackers for lots of people and a couple of very prestigious hotels too - Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester was one and Alain Roux's The Waterside at Bray the other. We found ourselves on BBC1 Look North talking about cracker jokes and on the local BBC radio too. Sue made almost every Go Crackers Handmade cracker herself - an amazing achievement! That is every bow, sticking in hundreds of snaps, and filling with assorted gifts from Whitaker's Chocolate truffles, super luxury gifts and table top games.

Well here is to another year of crackers and we start by going to the Harrogate Gift Fair in a couple of weeks - Christmas starts as early as that for us! I wonder what delights we will see there. The next big event is writing to all the Charity Fair organisers to get into fairs for October and November 2011. We then attend the Spring Fair at the NEC Birmingham and that is where the hard work starts. Finding suppliers for papers, all the gifts, crackers for the year and ribbons for the bows etc.

The Crazy Cracker Month of November

Well Sue & I are full steam ahead with crackers pouring out of our ears. Everywhere you look there are crackers, ribbbons, jokes, hats. Christmas is coming! We are around the countryside from North Yorkshire at Castle Howard to Irnham near Grantham and down to Hullavington Airfield. From York Racecourse to Sandown Park! Busy busy. We are making crackers for The Dorchester too. Wedding crackers are being made for the lovely Christmas Weddings.

Musical Hand Bell Crackers from Go Crackers

Hi There Just thought you would like to see our new video (see below) of our family having fun with the Musical Hand Bells. These crackers come in a box of 8 which is a musical octave. Each cracker contains a small but perfectly formed hand bell and each is a different numbered musical note. The crackers also have a hat which is covered in musical notes and a joke. In the box is numbered music which includes such favourites as The First Noel, Jingle Bells, Ding Dong Merrily, Bah Bah Black Sheep, Happy Birthday and lots of others to keep the family entertained for hours on end! You do not need to be musical to enjoy these crackers. Just nominate someone to be a conductor and he or she has a baton to conduct with. The conductor points at each person who has a numbered badge which corresponds to their numbered bell and the result is beautiful music, much chaos and lots of laughter. If you have less than the 8 people then you can play two bells at once! Give Musical Hand Bell Crackers a go this Christmas - you will not be disappointed!

Crackers for Christmas - Order early to avoid disappointment!

Gosh! This year Christmas crackers are going to be a problem. As most crackers are now made in China because it was cheaper there, however it is becoming increasingly expensive. The sea freight has doubled and when China had its floods earlier this year it caused serious problems for all the workers. The outcome of this is, crackers are not being made as quickly or in some cases at all. The more I talk to people in the cracker industry the more concerned I am becoming.

So if you want a good choice of crackers this year it may pay you to order early as repeat orders are unlikely. If however you would like one of our bespoke crackers made here in Lincolnshire, England then that will not be a problem!

Tom Smith & Robin Reed Crackers have arrived!

Hi Just to let you know our suppliers of Tom Smith and Robin Reed Crackers have arrived in our store. We have to say that most of them are just what we ordered! Some however are not! We find that what we choose in February does not necessarily arrive in September. As most of our bought in crackers are made in China we have come to the conclusion they are slightly colour blind! So we do reject some if we feel they are not what our customers would have liked. So we hope you like what you see!

September is here already!

Well can you believe it - September is upon us already! Time just flies by when you are having fun! Sue is busy making crackers for Christmas as fast as she can. Sticking paper on crackers and making hundreds of bows. I am busy updating the website with all our new crackers for Christmas and taking photos of new crackers and gifts to go inside. See the photo above - its a really stunning gold cracker with gems on it - we really think it looks fantastic!

Our new look website is also taking sometime but we hope you like it. We still have a bit of work to do on it but I think it will be easier for you all to use and looks good too. Facebook is also part of our world particularly our Wedding side so if you getting married soon take a look at our Facebook page and make comments too.

The Wedding Cracker Season

Hello! We have been busy at Go Crackers looking at new designs for Wedding Crackers and sorting out the stunning Christmas range of crackers too. We are hoping to update our website www.gocrackers.co.uk to make it more appealing and user friendly for our customers. We have had lots of enquires and orders for wedding crackers particularly for the 2010 Christmas season. People really love to have Christmas crackers at their weddings around Christmas time. The cracker makes a brilliant wedding favour carrier and also name place card for the table too. We have some new ideas for the wedding cracker with interesting conversation cards and fortune tellers. New for this year are the very popular wedding favour of a packet of Love Hearts.

Our Hen Party Crackers are causing a real stir as the contents get such a hilarious comment and recently we sent them out for a 40th birthday party - they loved them! Wind up Willies or Jolly Peckers as they are called seem to set the tone for a fun evening with lots of laughs!

Sue is therefore already hard at work making crackers for all our customers. I shall be giving our latest cracker news next month - so return here again soon.

Well, just a thank you to all our Go Crackers customers for supporting us in 2009. We now look forward to a new year and already we are planning our fairs for 2010. Then onto the Spring Fair at the NEC in February to choose our crackers, papers and ribbons to make you lots of lovely crackers for Christmas and weddings in 2010. Christmastime

Christmas time is here! The Crackers are filled and ready for the table. We would like to thank all our customers for buying their crackers from us at Go Crackers. If we have met you at Charity Fairs - thank you for coming to see us. Also thank you to all our internet returning customers - it is great to see you come back to us. If we have disappointed you - tell us and we will try harder!

We feel our crackers have sold well. The most popular still are the Musical Hand Bell Crackers by Robin Reed. We sell lots and lots of these crackers and we have wonderful reports back from customers who used them last year. What a brilliant idea they are and such fun. Our own Go Crackers handmade crackers have also sold extremely well - it is because you can buy as many as you like not the usual 6 or 12 but 5 or 7 or 11! You also can have them filled with chocolate truffles made by Whitakers which are excellent or mix some with chocolates and some with gifts. We have naughty crackers which are super for New Year's Eve parties and Hen Parties. Our Super luxury crackers contain really good quality useful gifts and we can personalise your crackers - tailor made for all your family. We also have a large stock of childrens crackers and lots of Caspari napkins.

Hello everyone! Christmas is just around the corner and you can enjoy it a little more if you know you have bought your crackers! Choose them now and avoid finding you cannot buy the ones you really want. Many crackers now come into the country from China. In England we used to make many more here than we do now. Once the orders are put into the suppliers in March it is increasingly difficult to get more of the popular ones" At Go Crackers of course we do make some ourselves and they are obtainable all the year round.

Christmas is on the way! We start our first Charity Fair tomorrow in aid of Leukaemia Research Fund at Market Rasen Racecourse in Lincolnshire. We have all our new crackers in stock and some really lovely ones too! Lots for children, bingo, colouring, fun & games as well as Magic and Giant crackers. The run up to Christmas!

Well, here we are again at the start of another Christmas season. We are really busy updating our website with all our new crackers and napkins. We have made our website http://www.gocrackers.co.uk/ more user friendly by adding more collections or rather moving them around and so making it easier for you to find what you are looking for with just one click! We are sticking on paper and making bows as fast as we can! We are also completing orders for our winter wedding customers so that they get their crackers in good time before we get really hectic. I am sure once we get to attend our first charity fair we shall be ready! Just to give you a flavour of one of our new designs I shall put a picture of it in here.

At Go Crackers we are busy getting ready for Christmas time. It is always exciting at this time of the year as we are making our first cracker enquiries for the Christmas Cracker season. We begin to glue the paper onto the crackers and make the bows for the various designs. The gifts are coming in too and we have a lot of new gifts particularly for children's crackers.

Hen Party crackers also seem to be of interest and our selection is quite fun!

Christmas Wedding Crackers are especially popular. We get asked for all sorts of colours and combinations and for filled and unfilled crackers too. The crackers become a brilliant favour carrier and name place card carrier too and look wonderful on the table.

Crackers in the Winter Months

Crackers in January, February and March are still something we are busy with. It is our reflection time. Which designs went well last year, which crackers did everyone enjoy? One of our problems is we have to design and buy crackers for this year before we meet you all again in October and November by which time we have already made and bought the crackers! Not an easy task. If you have comments on the crackers you bought from us last year we would love to hear from you. Did you enjoy the Hand Bells?

Of course we do have weddings to look forward to and everyone likes something different and we always do our utmost to make something truly special.

We went to the trade Spring Fair at the NEC at the beginning of February in the snow! It was very quiet! We didn't feel there was a lot of different designs on the cracker side but one good piece of news is a different design in the Hand Bells.

We apply to Charity Fairs now and then eagerly await the applications being accepted. Sue and I will soon be sitting down and designing new crackers for the Christmas season ahead!

We are really in full swing with our crackers now. Travelling around the country supporting charities from NSPCC to The Red Cross from Help for Heroes to Leukaemia. We have huge varieties of crackers on our stalls which suit every purse. Crackers for children, musical crackers, casino crackers, make your own crackers and many types of luxury crackers too. Crackers are arriving!

September is the month for the bought in crackers to arrive! Very exciting! The crackers we choose in March arrive on their palletts and we ooh and aarh over them!

This year we have some wonderful designs and excellent children's crackers. Finger Puppets for the younger children and the fun Novelty Race Game where Santas race up and down a board. Crackers in July

Well July is always an interesting month. We make crackers for summer weddings and also customers choose their crackers for their weddings around the Christmas season. If crackers for weddings is what you are looking for then visit our wedding collection. Our latest design of wedding cracker is pictured opposite.

You think you will have everything ready to start making crackers for Christmas. Of course getting hold of components can slow you down - we have just received some new cracker boards which have been in the pipeline for months. They were difficult to find but have now arrived and look super. Then the problem was foil hats - foil has gone up in price like everything else so that was difficult but they have arrived too. Rubber bands and snaps have also arrived. We just have to cut the paper to size and the making can start in earnest!

The photographs of the crackers once made then get put onto the website. There are lots of new varieties to make with different fillings too. We spend a little time down the coast in late July and early August and on a wet day you can find us making crackers in our caravan awnings!

Crackers in June

June is a month for making sure we have all our orders and pieces in place for the Christmas cracker season. We finalise all our designs and produce crackers for customers weddings. It is also a time for getting our wesite www.gocrackers.co.uk tuned! Not an easy thing to do! We are launching a range of "fill your own crackers" as we find lots of people like to fill their crackers with bits they have bought specially for their Christmas guests. Designing Crackers for Weddings

At the moment we have been busy designing crackers for weddings. We are asked for all sorts of different colours depending on whether it is a summer or winter wedding. Winter weddings around Christmas time tend to run on a traditional theme but for summer weddings the choice is endless. Black seems a more popular colour but it can look heavy unless given a lift.

We are also trying some really pretty sparkly type papers - a stunning shocking pink with pink organza bows is just one creation! Black crocodile paper on gold or silver is another really wacky look. We will see which we decide to run with this year. See picture above.

Weddings are particularly popular at this time of the year as people are thinking about their weddings and their Christmas weddings. We try hard to make crackers to suit their very special day and made in colours to suit their reception tables.

We buy crackers readymade for Christmas and also weddings and parties such as hen parties and special birthdays or anniversaries. At the moment we are deciding our on designs for Christmas later this year. Most of the crackers today are made in China and are ordered at this time of the year to be shipped over to the UK in August and September.

Of course the crackers made by Go Crackers are made here in Lincolnshire by local ladies and some help from our men folk too. We make them all by hand and they take a lot of time so that each cracker is made with love and care and doubled checked for quality. The ladies who help us all sit around a big table and chat away drinking cups of tea and enjoying the company of each other while making crackers.

At Go Crackers we are currently choosing our Christmas papers to cover some of our crackers. This we take very seriously and spend many hours deciding on just the right look for your Christmas table. Gifts too are another time consuming activity but we get very excited when the wonderful gifts come into our premises.
